Privacy Policy
Last updated September 24, 2026The short version: FlyZen works on your iPhone, even offline. Your motion data never leaves the device. An account is optional, and we don’t sell, share or track anything about you.
Motion sensor data
FlyZen reads your iPhone’s accelerometer and gyroscope to estimate pitch, bank and turbulence. This data is processed on the device in real time and is never sent to us or anyone else.
Your optional account
You can use FlyZen without an account. If you create one, you sign in with Apple or with an email and password. Our server never stores your email address or Apple ID in plain text: it keeps only an HMAC hash of it, a one-way code we use to recognise you when you sign in. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. We don’t ask for your name.
Flight history
Only while you’re signed in, FlyZen saves a short summary of each flight to our server so you can see it later: the start time rounded to the hour, the duration, the percentage of calm air, the number of bumps, the steepest turn, and a 48-step turbulence timeline. It contains no location, route, airline or raw sensor data. If you’re not signed in, nothing is sent.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app (History → account menu → Delete account). We erase your saved flights and anonymise the account, so nothing left on our server can be linked back to you.
Analytics and tracking
FlyZen has no ads, no analytics and no tracking SDKs, in the app or on this website. We may receive anonymous crash reports if you have chosen to share them with developers in your iPhone’s settings.
When you contact us
If you write to us through the contact form or at hello@flyzen.co, we use your name and email only to reply. Contact-form messages are emailed to our inbox and are not stored in our database. We delete messages from the inbox after 12 months. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, which processes technical data about your browser for that check.
Where your data lives
Our server runs on a virtual private server rented from Contabo, which may be located outside Colombia. It is protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access control. We use a small number of providers to operate the service, such as hosting and email delivery, under confidentiality and security obligations. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Data controller
The controller of your personal data is Diego Nicolás Rubiano Acosta (natural person), domiciled in Colombia, who publishes FlyZen under OsoLabs. Email for data-protection matters: hello@flyzen.co.
Your rights
Under Colombia’s Ley 1581 de 2012 (Habeas Data) and Decreto 1377 de 2013, you have the right to know, update and rectify your personal data; to request proof of the authorisation you gave; to be informed of how we use your data; to revoke your authorisation and ask us to delete your data where applicable; to access your data free of charge; and to file complaints with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC). Send your request to hello@flyzen.co or through the contact page. We answer queries within ten (10) business days and claims within fifteen (15) business days, extendable as the law allows.
Children
FlyZen is not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from minors; if we learn that an account belongs to a minor without a guardian’s authorisation, we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
